About our Farm:

We are two sisters who grow seasonal fresh cut flowers on 2 acres for the community in Colorado Springs. Our passion is sharing flowers with others and giving people an experience to remember on the farm. We host many events throughout the year that are themed around flowers, music, pumpkins and community building. Some of these events include Rocky Mountain Flower Fest, Brunch & Blooms, You-Pick Flowers, Music & Blooms, as well as the annual Pumpkin Fest!

Job Description: The Events & Marketing Manager position at Gather Mountain Blooms is a full-time, exempt, salaried role. Weekly hours may vary based on seasonal event demands. This role is responsible for planning, marketing, and overseeing the execution of farm events, primarily from May through December. The Manager serves as the primary on-site representative during events, requiring strong communication skills and a welcoming, professional demeanor. Given the nature of the role, a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends during peak event seasons, is necessary.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Event Planning

    • Organize and coordinate all event logistics, including but not limited to, setup, tear-down, vendor management, and timeline adherence.

    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and staff to ensure smooth event execution. Act as the primary contact for all event-related inquiries and concerns.

    • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote events through various channels, including community calendars, press releases, and social media.

  • Event Management

    • Act as the lead at most events and be prepared to delegate tasks, problem solve situations that arise, and greet guests with enthusiasm.

    • Act as the face of Gather Mountain Blooms ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

    • Instruct vendors and staff on where to set up and what their job duties are for the day

    • Ensure events are torn down and the farm is clean at the end of each event

  • Social Media

    • Work with hired digital marketing firm on content strategy

    • Manage a social media calendar with scheduled posts

    • Develop strategies to increase followers, create and oversee social campaigns, produce content based on analytics

    • Have a knack for storytelling, a keen eye for design, and an ability to analyze what does well with an audience

    • Drive sales to ticketed events through social media

  • Website

    • Identify strategies and methods to increase website traffic and ranking position through SEO

    • Update the website each month with upcoming events

  • Ad Campaigns

    • Work with hired digital marketing firm on advertising strategy

    • Set up and monitor Google ads using data and understanding of the ever-changing world of digital advertising

    • Research keywords, set budgets, and analyze ad performance to ensure a high return on investment.

  • Event Ticketing

    • Manage ticketing platform (SimpleTix) by adding in all events using strategies to increase traffic and purchasing

    • Add SimpleTix event platform to all of the GMB website event pages

    • Collect reviews from previous customers

  • Newsletter

    • Coordinate content for bi-monthly newsletter

    • Identify strategies to engage the newsletter audience

    • Analyze data to create audience segmentation and setup automated workflows

  • Wedding & Event Venue Management

    • Manage the CRM used for booking private venue rentals (Dubsado)

    • Set up and conduct tours of the venue to wedding and event clients

    • Respond to emails regarding venue questions

    • Act as venue manager at booked private weddings & events

Hours: 

  • This position begins on April 15, 2025. As a full-time, exempt position, the hours will fluctuate week to week. The “low-season” (January - April) hours are likely to average 20 hours per week and the “high season” (May-mid December) hours are likely to average 40 hours per week. The planning hours and the low-season hours are flexible and will be done remotely at home. The high-season hours will be more set with a likely schedule as follows:

    • Tuesdays: (July - September) 4:30 - 9:00 PM (Music & Blooms)

    • Saturdays: (July -September) 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (You-Pick & bigger flower events days)

    • Sundays (June & September): 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM (Brunch & Blooms)

    • October schedule: Fridays 8:00-2:30, Saturdays & Sundays 8:00-4:30

  • Dates that are non-negotiable for larger farm events include:

    • May 10 & 11: Mother’s Day Brunch & Pollinator Party

    • August 9: Rocky Mountain Flower Fest 

    • July 10: You-Pick Opening Day & 5 Year Anniversary Party

    • August 23 & 30: Sunflower Days

    • September 13 & 20: Dahlia Days 

    • September 27: Harvest Hootenanny

    • October 3: Oktoberfest

    • October weekends: Pumpkin Fest

    • November 28-30 and December 5-7: Christmas on the Farm

Pay:  This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with an annual salary ranging from $34,000 to $36,000, depending on experience. While weekly work hours may vary based on seasonal needs, this role requires flexibility throughout the high and low seasons.  

Benefits:

This position includes paid time off from December 23 through January 3 each year. Additionally, employees may take up to 12 vacation days annually, subject to prior approval, with preference given to scheduling during the low season. Wellness days may be taken as needed, with reasonable use expected. GMB reserves the right to review and adjust this policy as necessary.

There is no health insurance or retirement included.

Qualifications:  

  • A genuine passion for the farm's mission and a strong focus on community engagement.

  • Demonstrated experience in successful event planning and execution.

  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing

  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Excellent communication and delegation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate tasks and expectations.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining a collaborative spirit.

  • Positive attitude and a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.

  • Punctual, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines.
